Welcome to this week's A Muse Studio Consultant Challenge - Look What's New!

My name is Pamela Fredrickson and I am from Westford, Massachusetts. With the release of the 2012 A Muse Studio Catalog and Inspiration Guide there are so many FABULOUS new products that my challenge to you is to use products from the new catalog.

I had a hard time containing myself when it came to my Wish List! There are SO many wonderful new products that before I knew it, my catalog was filled with my sticky note flags!

Here is my card that I created for this week's challenge:

Floral Duet & Hand Scripted in Bellini, Burano, Lido and Memento Tuxedo Black

I used one of my favorite new stamps sets, Floral Duet, which happens to be one of the featured A Muse Studio Spotlight Sets and it's 10% off until February 29th at 11:59 p.m. ET. Aren't the new Venetian ink colors gorgeous! I chose Burano, Bellini and Lido for the flowers and used sponge daubers to ink up the main blossom. I love the blend of the ink colors! The sentiment from the Hand Scripted set is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black.

Time for Mardi Gras!

Mardi Gras, Carnivale, Fat Tuesday.......however you call it, Mardi Gras is next week, so for this challenge I want you to use the 3 traditional colors of Mardi Gras, Purple, Yellow (gold) and Green! It can be any theme, but the 3 colors need to be predominant!

I love our new colors, Grape, and Lido from the Venetian Palette, they're perfect for this challenge!
I started with a Grass Cardstock card base. I used the Corner Chomper to round the corners of the card base. For the layers on the card, first I cut the grape, lido and grass card stock using the Nestabilities Labels 8 dies. I took the Venetian Patterned Lido, I cut a strip and then used the A Muse|Studio Medium Scallop Border on both edges. I adhered the Lime Satin Ribbon down the center of the Venetian Patterned Lido strip. On the layers I used my Quickie Glue Pen to apply diamond glitter to the grape and lime layers and lime glitter to the lido layer. On the smallest grass layer I stamped the crown from the Keep Calm stamp set with Versamark Ink and then embossed it with White Embossing Powder. To assemble, I used the Tombow tape runner to adhere the Venetian Patterned strip to the center of the card. I then layered the grape, and lido layers onto the front of the card using 3D Foam Squares, and the Grass layer using the tape runner. I stamped the saying "It's Good To Be Queen" from the Keep Calm set with Versamark Ink and embossed with White Embossing Powder. I then used Clear Twinkle stickers to add a bit more bling on the scallops and crown.

Carla's Ultra Thick Embossing Powder Challenge

Hello there! Carla Mayfield here from Holyoke, Colorado with another fun challenge for you.

Every time you see my name, you know it's going to be glitter or embossing, right? Well, it's embossing again this time!

I love the look of ultra thick embossing powder, but we only sell regular embossing powder at A Muse Studio, so I tried it instead. I have to say it worked beautifully! I covered my die cut with Versamark, then a|s white EP, heated it, then Versamark, then a|s EP, and heated again. Before I heated it the last time, I inked up the leaf frond from Charming Gardener in our new ink, Lido. Once the powder was melted, down went the stamp, resulting in this super cool 3D image.

I added a sentiment from Hand Scripted, and embossed the frond in white all over a piece of Lido cardstock. The other color, also part of our new Venetian Color Group, is Burano. It's a vibrant, sundrenched, shimmering color. Sometimes I think it's red, other times orange or peachy. I think it depends on the light and the colors it's paired with.

Valentine Treats

Hello There! Karen Crisp here from Roseville, California with another fun challenge for you.

Do you have your Valentine Treats ready for friends, co-workers or classmates? If not, your luck is in, because that is this week's challenge, so we've lots of wonderful inspiration for you. These are the treat boxes I made for my daughter and her track team mates - 8 down 37 to go!

The new A Muse Studio catalog has some wonderful dies for making treat boxes and I can't wait to get my hands on them, but in the mean time this was actually quite easy to make - you just need scissors, a plate, an embossing tool and a printer - for full instructions and a template go to my blog.

I was inspired by one of the pictures in this months spotlight, I used the ready printed sweetheart and heartbreaker papers, they are landscape which is perfect for this project as you can get two to a sheet.

For the labels, I first stamped (or heat embossed) the outline of the label from the vintage labels set, cut it out using the coordinating die and then added the central image from the quick and cute valentines and love conquers all sets, two holes for the thread and a double thickness of cherry bakers twine and I was done - if I can get a morning to myself next week I should get the rest done, no problem!

The two valentine themed sets are featured in the current spotlight which finishes Tuesday, so if you know you want them and you want to pay the reduced price you have to act fast - I would be happy to help you with your order.

Stamping on anything BUT paper

Hi everyone! It's Carissa Fulkerson from Southern Illinois as your hostess this week. This is my first time as a hostess and I am looking forward to seeing your creations! This weeks challenge is stamp on anything BUT paper. I love finding new ways to use my stamps. I have been known to stamp on pretty much everything including the bars of soap I make! Besides paper of course my favorite thing to stamp on is ribbon. So here is what I made for you.

Snail and Co. is one of my favorite stamp sets and some of the new colors from the A*muse 2012 catalog arrived just in time for my creation. I also have some additional items on my blog other than cards if you want to head over there for some inspiration. I used a heart punch to punch four hearts and used Bermuda Polka dot paper with a new color called Pistachio. I stamped on the bottle cap in Pistachio Ink with the grass stamp and flower stamp that comes in Snail and Co. in the color Grape. On the white ribbon I stamped again with pistachio(new), grape(new), grapefruit(new) and shell ink.

Embossing Powder Take Two!

Embossing Magic Part Two:

Hey bloggers! Carla Mayfield here from Holyoke, Colorado with another fun challenge for you.

2012 is here! That's cause for celebration, don't you think? I have been stamping for twelve years now, and one thing I never tire of is heat embossing, so that's what your second challenge for the new year is! Anything goes as long as you have heat embossing using adhesive somewhere visible on your design.

Here's my heat embossed project for some inspiration. I used red line tape stuck diagonally across the card. Why go to all this trouble? Wouldn't just stamping and embossing be easier? Doesn't A Muse Studio have a fabulous set called Mad For Plaids that would work just as well? In a word: yes. However, this technique is much more dimensional, and the embossing powder doesn't melt in the same way it does on top of VersaMark. Besides, you know you have tons of adhesives laying around, why not give it a go?

I used the sweet ice cream soda glass from Sweet Love stamped twice and colored with Copics. If you don't have a perfect white embossing powder, may I recommend a|s's white? It comes in a big jar, and has beautiful white coverage. I've never used better, and I have LOTS of brands of EP.

This close-up does a little better job showing the dimension of this technique. I made my primary image small to highlight the fixy background.

Hey bloggers! Carla Mayfield here from Holyoke, Colorado with another fun challenge for you.

I have been stamping for twelve years now, and one thing I never tire of is heat embossing, so that's what your first challenge for the new year is! Sugar and Spice and All Things Nice

Happy Holidays! My name is Karen Crisp and I am from Roseville, California. I am delighted to be your hostess for this week's challenge. Your challenge this week is titled 'Sugar and Spice and All Things Nice".

This is my favorite time of year, it combines my three favorite pastimes - stamping, cooking and eating! In my project for this challenge I managed to combine two of them -a box for a gift of homemade gingerbread cookies - would you believe it started life as a box of Pringles? Detailed instructions can be found on my blog, here.

Welcome to this week's A Muse Studio Consultant Challenge - SNOWFLAKES!

My name is Pamela Fredrickson and I am from Westford, Massachusetts. The year is winding down and the holidays are fast approaching! Have you gotten your holiday cards out yet? Mine are going out this week, later than normal but in plenty of time to make it before Christmas.

My challenge to the Design Team and to you is to create a card or project that contains snowflakes. I love snowflakes and A Muse Studio has some beautiful snowflake items (stamps, dies and impression plates). Below is a Gift Card Holder which can be used for any occasion.

Don't you just love this super cute gift card holder! I love the color combination of the Vanilla and Cherry Cardstock with the Twas the Night Before Christmas Text Paper. I used the Snowflake Trio Die Set with the Snow Crystals Stamp Set and the To/From are from the Holiday Tags Stamp Set.

Happy Holidays! It's Amber Smith here and I've got a holiday themed challenge for you this week...gift tags! What I love about gift tags is that they are really just little canvases to showcase your stamps and creativity! You can use them in the traditional way as a package name tag or you can incorporate tags into your cards. Your challenge for this week is to make a tag all by itself or feature a tag on a card. Here are just a few tags I've been making recently.

No, we aren't headed back to school (although since I am a teacher I head there every day...) :)
My name is Tami Grandi and I am your East TN a*muse consultant. If you are in the east TN area (from Johnson City to Nashville to Knoxville to Chattanooga) I would love to be your consultant! Anyway, I want to keep this short and sweet since I know we are all very busy with the Thanksgiving holiday this week (which should also mean lots of time to play). My challenge is simple- create Anything But a Card. I know that I tend to create a lot of "projects" for the gift giving side of the holiday and since most people give gift cards I went with a lip balm/gift card holder. I found the tutorial through SCS and it was a pretty easy and quick gift to gather together. Take a peek- you can find details HERE- and then get creating!

Go Metallic with Metal Embossing!

Hello! Carla Mayfield here!! I have never been a technique junkie. Whenever I try a new technique, I almost always wind up with an ugly duckling! Maybe that's why I am enjoying A Muse Studio's Impression Plates so much; there's no real "technique" required! Your challenge this week is metal embossing. You can use craft metal if you have some on hand, or just heavy duty foil. If you have neither of those, just get some metallic paper out and play with us anyway, we love seeing your work!!

For this week's prize, I am giving away a random sampling of A Muse Studio products. It will be a little package of stamping goodness for the lucky winner, I promise I'll make it fun!!

This week's challenge is to create a thank you card - with the holidays in mind!

You can create a Thanksgiving card or thank you cards with a holiday theme for that homemade pumpkin pie you got or all of those Christmas goodies you will be receiving come December!

Here is what I created:
I used the 'Autumn Beauty' stamp set. Since we don't get to see much of the leaves changing color here in Arizona, I decided to put some colorful leaves on my card using A Muse pigment ink on sponge daubers. The sentiment is stamped with french roast ink. The leaves on the sentiment tab are embossed with satin pearl embossing powder over latte ink. Cardstock colors used are latte, vanilla and cherry. The finishing touches are french roast stitched ribbon and chocolate pearls.

Thanks for joining us this week, we love having you! I'm Carla Mayfield, your A Muse Studio Challenge Blog Hostess this week. This week, I'd like to see your dry embossed projects. A Muse has several super cool custom impression plates, and that is what I used on my card. You don't have to have an a muse plate, although I'd love to see what you do with it if you do! I used one of the newest plates. It has a spider's web on one side, and swirls on the other, so it's useful year round, not just for Halloween.

This card is my Halloween swan song. I love paper crafting Halloween projects and I'm always a little sad when it's over.

I started with our Sleepy Hollow patterned cardstock, ran it through the Big Shot, then gently ran my Tuxedo Black Memento pad over it. I love the messy, creepy look I got. I had to toss my spooky fence die cut on there, and a bit of black baker's twine as well.

French Roast and Bubble Gum Inspiration

For this week, I'm hosting an inspiration design: French Roast and Bubble gum! Although my project is all AS products, yours doesn't have to be! Any brown and pink combination works!!! I love these colors together, they are my favorites. The picture is from a wedding book so I thought it to be appropriate to have a wedding card:

Mr. and Mrs.
deets: all AS products: CS: sugar, blush, bubble gum, french roast polka dot; Stamps: Happily ever after and clever girls;
Inks: memento black, blush, and bubble gum; Copics: RV25, E25, E11, and E33; others: twinkle stickers-clear and bubble gum satin ribbon.

I wish I had a better camera to take a close up view of her dress. The ink that AMuse Studio sells gives her dress a textured look, the power effect of the blush and bubble gum and black (on the sentiment- allows the sentiment to have a 3D effect) all together is magnificent! Her bouquet is accented with clear twinkle stars and has added dimension with the pop-up dots. The copics (E25,E11, and E33) gives her hair a "highlighted" effect.

Have fun with this inspiration, I know I did!

Embellishment Challenge

Thanks for joining us on the A Muse Studio Challenge Blog this week. I am Amber Smith, from Charlotte, North Carolina. My challenge for this week is to make your own embellishment. One of the things I love about A Muse Studio is the way you can make coordinating embellishments, like using foam tape to make a 3-D element pop or coloring the paper flowers with pigment ink or Copics. A Muse Studio also offer great die cuts that make it easy to design your own embellishments to coordinate with your creations.

Our holiday dies make a statement on a simple muslin bag and a little muslin stitched onto a button just adds a certain "cuteness"!

RIBBONS A PLENTY!

This week it's all about ribbon! I love all the different kinds of ribbon that a musestudio has to offer, grosgrain stitch, organdy, polka dot organdy, and gorgeous satin ribbon......I am so in love with the satin ribbon! For my challenge I want you to use ribbon on your project, it can be as little or as much as you like, any kind of ribbon. You don't need to use a musestudio products to enter or to win...but if you have them, why not show them off?

For my project, I used the Bounty Of the Season stamp set, and lots of a musestudio ribbons, satin ribbon, polka dot organdy ribbon and grosgrain stitch ribbon The rosette could easily be turned into a pin for special award! Tara's Challenge Week 3, Let's go 3D

Hello! This week's challenge is for dimension. It can be 3D adhesive, pop-up folds, that crystal/diamond glaze stuff that adds a glass-like dimension, shaker cards, anything that makes your card not flat.

I'm Tara Johnson, an a*muse studio consultant in Rockville, MD (just north of Washington, DC.)

I seem to be a big fan of Pop Dots/3D adhesive and I've been using them on a lot of my cards recently. For this week, I made a mini card for Halloween. It would be a great lunchbox or treat bag card for someone.
